Description
Sing a song of sixpence,A pocket full of rye.
Four and twenty blackbirds,
Baked in a pie.
When the pie was opened,
The birds began to sing;
Wasn't that a dainty dish,
To set before the king?
This is a rhyme I heard when I was much much younger, but normally wasn't a nursery rhyme that I knew well. For some reason the other night I had a dream about the blackbirds in a pie, and for the life of me, didn't know any of the rest of the rhyme. I found the rhyme and had to paint what was stuck in my head from the dream.
Ink & Watercolor on watercolor paper.
