Rani, Siri and Sawa were resting near the den of the Tree of Life, spending some time together, while Kion took the rest of the family for a swim in the lake. Then, a new sent got caught in their nostrils. They obviously wanted to make their presence known, and now they definitely had the Rani and her cubs' attention. Siri hid on the far side of the rock, Rani stood atop it, and Sawa jumped onto the soft grass just below the rock facing the newcomer.

What they saw, was a white tigress, had they not been paying attention carefully, they would have mistook her for a winter pride member, but the stripes on her back gave away she was a tigress, and a large one too.

Sawa: Who are you and what do you want?

Mzimu: There's no need for hostility, I'm not here to make trouble.

Rani: You'll have to forgive my daughter. She's been a little on edge after a run-in with some foul humans.

Mzimu: That is understandable, but she does realize that one of those humans is behind her right.

Sawa: Siri is not like those foul humans, he's my brother.

Mzimu: A human as part of a lion family? So the rumors that the Winter Pride was going on about were true.

Rani: Careful with the next words you say stranger. The Winter Pride is no ally of ours.

Mzimu: Oh, forgive me. My name is Mzimu.

Rani: And what is your business here Mzimu.

Mzimu: I am here to seek refuge at the tree of life. I lost my home to rising seas, and understood the Tree of Life was a place where animals of all different kinds lived. I also had been told my sister had ventured this way, so I came in search of her as well. I also came to see the Liger Cub.

Rani: You know my son Baraka?

Mzimu: Yes, while I was being held captive by the Winter Pride.

Rani: None too surprising they'd do that.

Mzimu: Indeed, while I was there, they had brought "Baraka" as you named him, to their den, I tended to him while he was staying there. I was relieved to know Crystal had gotten him out of the lands, and because my nose was more attuned to scent than that of Winter Pride, I found their escape route, but, I had delayed my own escape to gather what information I could, to alert you of what I know of what the Winter Pride plans next.

Rani: Well that is a bold claim, but, if you don't mind, I wish to have Baraka verify that you were actually caring for him. For all I know, you could be trying to infiltrate for the Winter Pride, to report back to them when our backs were turned.

Mzimu: I understand. I would do the same thing if I were in your position.

Rani: In the mean time, while we wait for my mate and other cubs to return, please tell me what you do know, while I may be skeptical, if Baraka says you are who you say you are, then what you tell me will have far greater validity.

Mzimu nodded that she understood what Rani was meaning. As she began to tell them what she could, both Sawa and Rani wondered. Who had been Mzimu's sister. If it was who they thought, well, that would bring good and bad news to Mzimu, but they would inquire about her family tree later, as they and Siri listened to what the Winter Pride had planned. Both including the Tree of Life as well as the Pridelands and other allied prides.

A part I wanted to add to some time that happened after Sawa, Siri, and their Tree of Life siblings all escaped the human's grasp during the Siri still human timeline. And now, Mzimu the tigress has shown up. Is he a relative of Baraka's or is her sister someone else? I haven't decided yet.
