Description

Drawing all my random ocs that haven't had art in a while is kinda becoming a ongoing project at this point. I dunno it's just nice to give these buggers some updated art and it's also nice to see the difference compared to when they last were drawn. But anyway, I do rather love Snowstep. He's got a pretty special place in my heart for me as he was my first proper oc that got fully fleshed out and the whole works, going to leave his bio below if anyone is interested.

Snowstep is a sensible, calm, hard working cat. He could be described as being a borderline pacifist, in that he is very unwilling to engage or go along with any fighting apart from the case of self defence or in order to prevent further harm to others. While he will still follow orders from his clan leader concerning engaging offensively, he does so reluctantly and will generally be the voice calling for other solutions in the lead up to any fighting. Apart from that Snowstep is a very loyal and hard working member of the clan and earned the reputation of a respectable and upstanding warrior. Due to this and his level headed nature he was often given more rowdy apprentices in order to mellow them out. As a young warrior Snowstep became mates with his childhood sweetheart and at the time apprentice med cat after she got pregnant and quit her med cat training to be with him. Fatherhood came a little too soon for Snowstep, as while he loved his kits dearly he didn't really know how to handle them, especially when their sibling fighting got further and further out of hand between the two eldest. In an effort to correct this Snowstep and his mate focused on curbing their eldest son's more harmful tendencies but this came at the cost of ignoring their daughter's well-being, unknowingly leaving at the mercy of her other bullies within the clan. The result was a strained relationship with his daughter Chickadeeflight as adults, which despite Snowstep's efforts to reconnect were never successful much to his distress. While his future litters did not have the same issues Snowstep always felt a little reserved and out of his depth when it came to his kits, trying his best but at the same time fearing he would make the same mistakes as his first litter and end up hurting them even if it was unintentional. As a senior warrior he was rumoured as potential deputy material but the opportunity came a little too late in his life, the tom choosing to retired to the elders den just prior to the need for a new deputy. There he would spend some happy moons, entertaining the clan's kits with stories and still offering his words of wisdom and pacifism to clan leadership when needed.
