Originally painted August 3rd, 2023.

And this was my final painting for the class. The concept was inspired by a sketch in one of my older sketchbooks of Graystripe and Silverstream. The theme we had to do was either distance or reflection, and I wanted to sort of combine the two by only giving one cat a reflection, symbolizing that only one of them is physically there. I wanted the ghost cat to be silvery, and I wanted the living cat to contrast by being darker and less fluffy and flowy, so the designs are based on Feathertail and Crowfeather. I also did some lining with a pen. I love how the cats came out in this piece, though the background is very muddy. I also still struggled to go as dark as I wanted, especially with such a big space to fill. Afterall, this piece is quite large. 16in x 20in. Overall though, I like how it came out.
