Hero of Light
She was hailed as the hero, the chosen one, the daughter of light. Her very birth was said to have been blessed by the sun, destined to vanquish the darkness.

She stood and fought, shielding the people from the wicked. For she was the hero, and that was her duty.

That was what they called her, and praised her. "The hero of light."

But little did the people know that within her burned a darkness, a shadow born of doubt and fear.

Even the most virtuous among us have their demons to confront, their battles to fight.

And even the brightest light cast the deepest shadows.

It was not lost on her that there were times when fear and exhaustion threatened to overtake her, when the weight of the world seemed too much to bear. Who knew the toll of being a girl on the front lines, caught between life and death, kill or be killed.

But a true hero does not falter in the face of adversity, nor do they cower when confronted with darkness. Heroes did not live for themselves. Heroes defended justice, and banished the shadows from this world.

And so she fought, unyielding in her quest to banish the shadows that threatened to consume her and the world she held dear.

For she was "a hero of light", a champion of the people, a beacon of hope in a world beset by darkness.

And yet, even as she battled tirelessly to vanquish evils of this world, a single question remained unanswered: Who would protect her from the darkness within?
