Description If it has become too obvious, I have low self-esteem. I'm not gonna lie, I'm fat. Not horribly obese, I'm perfectly healthy (my doctor's checked) but for the most part I'd have to say I'm so-so on the happiness scale. But I see all these beautiful women on TV, inmagazines, and in books that it just makes me feel so self conscious. Not to mention my older successful sister is soo beautiful and well I'm not.

Both my nieces and my family say, I'm beautiful but I just don't see it. I can't count the number of times I look in the mirror and try so hard to see the beautiful person they see. The beautiful woman I want to be. I used two base that were from my good friend ~TokyoLynn , I did make the one base in the mirror a bit bigger to fit. I hope it doesn't break your rules,~TokyoLynn .

I've done this whole thing from paint, including the background. The girl in front is me and the reflection is what I would like to look like. Yeah I know the outfit & make-up look odd, but cut me some slack. I've never used make-up at all before except for Halloween make-up. If you like please comment.

Note: I've decided to leave it as it is, so far most people like the mirror effect.

its an urban legend like the Mothman and Bigfoot. I think the story goes about the BunnyMan of Fairfax. Legend was he was a killer and if you went down the tunnel he haunted at night, he'd kill you.

To me, this picture represents how many of us have inner selves and the outer selves they allow others to see. The trick is to either merge the two, or find a friend, or group of friends, that you can let the inner self come out and play with. Duality of personality... I think we all have it.

hmm... maybe you've seen your beautiful self too long in the mirror that you think you're not beautiful
we're all artists, so i think most would agree that when you admire your work of art for too long you start to think its plain but then you show it to the world and you get people who love it and see how beautiful it really is even if you dont

... yeah... my logic doesnt really run straight

If you look like the girl in blue then you`re not fat at all dear! Also, if the doctor says you`re healthy, then you are not fat, fat means too much weight, and the doctor said you didn`t have any.
If you compare yourself to girls in the media, then youre not comparing yourself to `normal` (<- whatever that may be) girls, but to skinny girls, and that is a very big difference. Always keep in mind that those girls either spent waaaaay too much time in the fitness room or are photoshopped. It`s an ideal the average girls and women can`t even dream of reaching, not even to speak of maintaining it. In a lot of situations it`s not even healthy to be that skinny and I think in the long run it won`t make them happier than the rest of us, the struggle to keep their weight like that is a hard one.

I know it`s easy to say all this because you don`t feel that way.

I can relate to your picture too, thought not in weight because I too am perfectly healthy. But I have been bullied a lot because of my looks and because I was insecure and quit. I don`t look like a photomodel so to say and though I nowadays think that I`m not too bad, I still have my insecurities about looks and personality. About a year ago I`ve started cognitive therapy because in spite of my good circumstances I still felt not happy and scared. And I must say that opened a lot of new perspectives. I can`t describe it all here, but I know now that no one can change your self esteem permanently but yourself. It`s hard work to stand up to all the negative, condemning thoughts, to stop comparing and pretending, and try to learn new thought patterns, but it`s worth it! I can recommend it to anyone because no one has to feel this way. This world likes boxes and putting people in spotlights, but in the end we`re all the same and no one is worth more or less than any other.

A good tip I once heard is: start comparing yourself to the average people in the street, you`ll see if you really look honestly that most people are nothing like the media girls, the world of tv is mostly fake (and I find it more and more ugly the longer I look at it and the more I hear the empty messages they spread about beauty, it`s so relative...)
I have my own vision of beauty now. I don`t even like skinny, I think it`s scary and unhealthy. Women need round soft shapes, it`s how we`re build.
