Absolutely beautiful. I love the colors and the different attitudes each of the figures portray-they each have their own personality even without faces, just from the poses and the way the ribbon accessorizes them! I'd wear this on a t-shirt.

i love how you draw women, they're soft and curvy, and the chunky legs are very cute. (: lovely poses, and the ribbon/scarf that connects them all is beautiful...fantastic, as always.

What caught my eye was the wonderful softness of the figures! I adore how each are unique; the simplicity and cleanness of this was a great boon~

It has a nice message into this cute art. It shows that people can be together despite differences, or at least that's just me.

This is truly unique. I love how each girl is connected to the other, and how you made each one different in some way. Its like sister-friends. Everyone is different but they're always tied together by a ribbon of friendship. Beautiful.

Connected. They're all white and have big hips. So it's really just saying even though you wear your hair/scarf differently, you are still the same. Deep. You could have went farther with this idea.

the picture wasn't meant to be as deep as you think.

Clearly that is the point I am making. But take a look at some other comments. They seem to think it is.

I like people to interpret it however they want

the white in this case is meant to show the absence of detail, not a skin color.

Yeah, I think you misinterpreted that.

SerpentFonce In reply to sydofnee [2011-09-05 02:43:45 +0000 UTC]
I still think it seems like a pretty shallow idea then. Hairstyle is the only difference between the women.
And how can white be the absence of detail? Skin tones range from white to dark brown. So the "absence" the "normal" is white? It seems a bit confusing don't you think?
I can interpret it however I want, and that is how I interpret it.

sydofnee In reply to SerpentFonce [2011-09-05 14:24:35 +0000 UTC]
I know there are different skintones and all that, I just think that wasn't how the artist meant the piece to be received.
Btw, [and I don't want to sound racist, am no racist and know no racists] in my town, there are only white people with hardly any range in color, so here white is normal. It may not be like that everywhere, but it is here.

SerpentFonce In reply to sydofnee [2011-09-05 16:58:11 +0000 UTC]
Ok...Well good to know about your community? I'm sure you are AWARE there are other races in the world, so how is that important?
Sure, it might not be her intention to comment on race. That's fine. But I'm saying that the only thing she seems to be commenting on in the image, is hair. Which seems pretty shallow to me.

sydofnee In reply to SerpentFonce [2011-09-05 17:56:43 +0000 UTC]
Of course I'm aware. There just aren't that many here, it's not like we're telling them not to move here, believe me. I just live in a small town.
Okay, so can I interpret you more or less calling me ignorant? And if you tell me that wasn't your intention, I can say it doesn't matter because that's the way I understood it?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
SerpentFonce In reply to sydofnee [2011-09-05 19:10:19 +0000 UTC]
So you think she's making a comment about her town which is all white? I still don't see your point.
Well sure, people can understand things however they want. It doesn't always matter to them, the intention. When people get insulted, they don't always think (or care) about the person's intention behind the comment, they just feel insulted.
But with art, perhaps the intention is one thing, but interpretation is another. Many different interpretations can come from one intention. Don't you think that's the nice thing about art?

sydofnee In reply to SerpentFonce [2011-09-05 20:31:55 +0000 UTC]
No I don't. I think all moosekleenex wanted to show is that people are connected. You brought up "races" and different skintones.
Sure it is a nice thing about art. I just hate it when everything is always automatically about racism, "race" and different skintones and the like. Not everything needs to be a perfect split through the entire population.

People (women) are connected (even if they wear their hair differently). Yup. No shit.

SerpentFonce In reply to sydofnee [2011-09-09 08:55:54 +0000 UTC]
Yes, shallow art is still art. But a lot of the other commenters seem to think it's this very deep image. I guess to think that women who wear their hair differently might have other things in common is astonishing to some.

What I get from this is a unity of cultures. For example, the first girl appears to have a Chinese style, the second girl a New York appearance and so on. And their lack of facial features leaves a lot of room for interpretation, such that we are all still females in the same world, even if our styles and ways of life differ.
