Dwarf society is practically nothing but the Party from the novel 1984. Or even worse. But according to the dwarves, all this is just slander. Dwarven commissars are maintaning the order of volunteers. They are actually friendly guys and gals, and will only beat, whip or shoot someone when absulely justified. If anyone claims otherwise, that person is an enemy of the dwarven kingdom and will therefore receive exemplary punishment.
