After exploring these two for a while in my AUs, I finally figured out the couples that inspired Socks (Whatever Happened To Robot Jones) X Cheryl (My Robot Jones OC)

~Lucas and Max (Stranger Things): One of the main inspirations for the couple. Both of these 80s couple have some things in common. While Lucas and Socks are part of a group, Max and Cheryl are new to the group. They also became best friends with Lucas and Socks for a while before becoming love interests.

~Buster & Babs Bunny (Tiny Toons, Original): Before they decided to turn Buster and Babs into twins in the non-canon revival, I noticed they share some similarities with Socks and Cheryl as they happen to be best friends, who have crushes on one another. But while Buster and Babs do show their feelings to each other, both Socks & Cheryl are shy about theirs.

~Eugene & Rapunzel (Tangled): This came as a suprise to me as alot of my friends see Socks & Cheryl as Raps and Eugene. And after a while, I can see it. Both Rapunzel and Cheryl are adventurous, but sweet, while Socks and Flynn are both kind of savvy, not to mention, they have real names (Tim & Eugene).

~Hercules & Megara (Hercules): Both Socks and Hercules happen to be nice and dorky, but awkward guys while Cheryl, like Meg can be a deadpan snarker when she wants to. Cheryl also didn't had that many friends before she moved into Polyneux.

~Freckle & Ivy (Lackadaisy): My first choice for them was Moxxie & Millie, but after watching the Lackadaisy short, I noticed a couple Socks & Cheryl in Freckle & Ivy. Both Socks & Freckle happen to be more easygoing and tend to be nervous at times while Ivy & Cheryl can be sweet, they do have tempers when their buttons are pushed.

~Lazlo & Patsy (Camp Lazlo): I can see a little bit of Lazlo & Patsy in these two, except Cheryl isn't a stalker, she can get a little jealous, though.
