Description

The ninth spirit of the Goetia is Paimon, a great King very obedient to Lucifer. He appears in the form of a man seated atop a dromedary with a glorious crown upon his head. He is preceded by a retinue of spirits, like men with trumpets and cymbals, and all manner of musical instruments. He possesses a powerful voice and speaks spouting words in such numbers that the magician cannot understand unless he can compel him to obey.

This spirit can teach all arts and sciences, as well as secret things. Discover anything that is on land or under water; and what the mind is, and where it is; or some other wish the magician wants to know. He bestows titles and confirms them. He bestows good Familiars as he can teach any arts. He must be expected from the west. He is of the order of Dominations. He leads 200 legions of spirits, one being of the order of angels, and the other of the Powers. Now if you want to call Paimon alone, you must make him some offering; and he attends by means of two kings named LABAL and ABALIM, and also by other spirits who are of the order of Powers, together with 25 legions. And those spirits who are subject to him are not always with him unless the magician forces them to do so.
