Without warning, the Trandoshan rounded on him and thrust a long, scaly arm through the bars of the cell to grab him by the throat. Echo gagged, grabbing the creature’s wrist as she lifted him effortlessly off the ground and pulled him to the bars.

“Be patient,” she purred, narrowing her orange eyes. With her free hand she reached up to trail the tip of one long, pointed claw delicately down the midline of Echo’s face, from his brow to his chin. “They will come for you, sssoon.”
