Summary: Jotunn and his siblings take a trip to the Ice Empire camp for the first time. Unbeknownst to him, he meets a new friend for life.

Gryphon

The tiny golden cub hadn't seen snow before. The flakes fell quite slowly down from the skies above, and while Gryphon was still getting used to how the world worked, this development had nearly sent him over the moon in curiosity.

He was standing with his legs spread out as wide as they would go, his tail fluffed up as he stared up at the sky, wide with wonder. It was cold, very cold, but that didn't matter to the cub. No, he was absolutely enraptured and there was nothing that was going to pull him away from his interest.

Well, except for maybe another cub.

Jotunn

On his first adventure to the big camp... Jotunn was ecstatic. He never knew the world was bigger than their little den site in the woods, and with strict instruction never to wander out of sight... it was almost overwhelming to be introduced a whole new planet it seemed.

Was this Asgard? Was this the place his Poppa Zadar fabled to him?

Regardless, he took to it like a duck to water... fearless. Where his siblings were, he had no idea. Uncharacteristic of him really to not keep them in sight... but there was just so much to explore! Eyes to the sky and every which way he could crane his little neck... every way except forward.

Bump

Clumsy in his own ways, Joey suddenly found himself chest-to-shoulder with another small cat... one who looked like a worthy opponent... He tried to muster up the words his dad taught him.. but they kinda fumbled out incorrectly.

"Oi! Friend? Or Fool?" Joey bounced back, chest fluffies puffed to their max.

Gryphon

Gryphon's gaze immediately turned towards the fluffy puffball of a baby that was Jotunn, though he didn't have any clue who this little angry feline was. He flicked his ears back a little, confused, before realizing that he was... really the only one around for the younger feline to be talking to.

"Um." It took a moment for him to process what the other cat was asking. Not because he hadn't heard him, but because he was trying to figure out what oi meant. No matter, it didn't really mean much when the question's followed were clearly the more important matter to focus on.

"..."

"Friend?" He didn't really think he was a fool. Wasn't that a little mean of an assumption? The younger feline must've meant something else, but what word he had meant to say was absolutely lost on Gryphon. He had never heard a cat ask if they were a friend or foe and therefore wasn't even aware that the words had been mixed up.

Probably for the better. He wasn't going to pick fun of the younger cat for it nor was he going to be bothered by the absurdity of the question. He wasn't the kind of cub for that.

Jotunn

Joey... admittedly hadn't thought that far into the interaction.

So caught up in his little world, he hardly had time to think before he'd confronted the older cub. Thankfully, this new kid didn't have any immediate beef with him.

Baby steps.

"Uhm.. do you wanna join my team? I'm a scout for my tribe and I'm exploring the new terrin-tory." He bashfully asked, finding the conversation now much more difficult to engage in now that he'd actually entered it.

"I need more lookers than just mine... and I think you're a native."

Gryphon

A smile, tail swishing in the grass for a moment before a slight nod.

"I can help explore" Despite having a few months on the smaller cub, Gryphon couldn't help but feel excited to join in on the games.

"What're we lookin' for anywise."

Crouching down next to the smaller cub, Gryph was glad to know that they were friends and not fools and that they could both agree do it.

He liked this kid. Even if they hadn't really had a chance to play too much.

I LOVE THESE TWO. This took place before Gryphon and his family departed from Ice ;;; Joey will be missing his friend till he returns.
