We have some big news to share today, a big shift in our ARPG: the introduction of our brand new website, Mothcats.com ! Even though it will bring a lot of changes, all of these changes will help the ARPG run smoother and better for everyone involved!

Why are we making these changes?
Over the years, the Mothcats ARPG has become very robust, with many activities and items. We have so far been able to house these functions through Deviantart, though there have been many limitations within these functions. The big buzz around Deviantart lately has been about Deviantart Eclipse, which the site has announced will become mandatory near the end of May. Many users have had issues with the new site layout provided by Eclipse, including the fact that there seems to have been no regard for Group features. There are a few indications that Eclipse will have a negative impact on ARPG functions, so the staff figured this would be as good a time as any to move towards a more permanent solution that we're very excited about, Lorekeeper!

What is Lorekeeper?
Lorekeeper may be somewhat familiar to you, a few groups on Deviantart have migrated their ARPG functions to websites using the Lorekeeper framework. To sum it up, Lorekeeper (created by corowne) is a framework that automates ARPG functions directly into website. This includes banks containing currency and inventory, prompt submission, shops, raffles, and even the masterlist! What does this mean for me?
Going forward, many of Mothcats ARPG aspects will be moved to Mothcats.com. Registration will be necessary for those who wish to participate in the ARPG, as it has been necessary in the past to maintain a Mothcats Bank. The good news is that its easy to register on our new site. Just go to Mothcats.com and register your account (you may choose any username, it doesn't have to match your Deviantart username), verify your e-mail, and connect your Deviantart account! Then your account will be ready for Migration. To begin the process of migrating your bank, head on over to the Migration Station! (link)

How will the ARPG Features on the site work?
Automation is the name of the game! By moving some features to mothcats.com, many of our ARPG features will be able to run smoother and faster! The site has shop features, submission features, and prompt features already built in. To earn Flower Tokens, you must submit the piece to the art queue (using the URL to the submission on Deviantart). Fills for prompts such as quests, event prompts, and scavenging are submitted through the same process. Things like shops and trading will be automated onsite, and not need to wait for staff approval. Some quests and features will still be initiated via Hubs on Deviantart through comments, but rewards will always come from the new site. How do I make sure my items get to the new site?
We have you covered here! Everything has to be moved manually to the new site, so we have set up the Migration Station, where staff will manually move your Mothcat bank to your account on the new site; Flower Tokens, Items, Stickers and all. In order for this to work smoothly, please make sure your Mothcat bank is fully updated! For more information, please head on over to the Migration station.

Timeframe
Mothcat banks are ready to be transferred right away! However, the process of migrating banks will take some time, so please be patient with staff as we transfer your banks. The Mothcat Masterlist transfer is ongoing, and can take some time. Items attached to Mothcats can be transferred when the Masterlist has been moved to the site. Other features and functions will be gradually added to the site, but we want to prioritize getting banks up on the site before Eclipse becomes mandatory, in case that complicates the process further.
