An oil painting for a class. I did this assignment as a series of fantasy imagery that represented humankind's perseverance through difficult times and how that perseverance can become complacency at times. The figure sitting calmly and watching the massive dragon on the horizon can be interpreted either way. The red dragon is based off of the western interpretation of the creatures that depicts them as animalistic, greedy, and destructive. It was a recurring image throughout this series.
