Description
In 2006 I listened a lot to Thom Yorkes “The Eraser”. While listening to it I wrote down a poem with black ink onto a red piece of paper. A blob happened. And it shaped out into a human like creature waving like a ghost. I started a series of the element that perpetrates the contemporary world affairs. I modelled with my fingerprints, e.g. a big apple. Like “Big Apple” in context with New York. I did not intend a direct connection with surveillance but with general suspicion. Especially a suspicion against Islam. The fingerprint represents the criminalists work and the hyper-ambition of his institution. The fingerprint as a symbol of general suspicion by being shown as omni-present. The human like creature is confronted with that symbol.
Ergonomics mean handiness, easy management. It means more than usability, it means overkill regulation.
