Description This is my most recent print and honestly I think it may be my best piece so far. I am trying to think about Zen and a spiritual search in this piece and I think some of that may be coming through. This took me so long to finish and I don't even know if it's done yet. I could still make it about 6 inches wider but I just do not have time in my schedule for that kind of extended madness. My fingers are now very hard from all the carving. Cheers!

This print is now availible on etsy!

It would serve you better to take more breaks in between projects then!
I hope you've been investing some for the digital camera you need and hope you're able to purchase one soon.

Yea or switch media up a bit. Throw some silkscreen in there.
I just need to sharpen my powers of persuasion and borrow a camera. (I think my dad has an old one heh heh heh)

If switching up your mediums to take it easy a little bit more on your body, then why not
Haha, and yes, you can always borrow too but owning your own means you can use it whenever and where ever without having to check with anyone but yourself

Gosh this is really impressive! I always found lino printing difficult to get my head around

Are they silver birches?

Great composition by the way!

I am not sure what sort of trees. I think they might be Aspens.

Actually after all these years of carving relief I can carve for an entire day without any pain. I have these huge freaking callouses on my middle finger.

Lino is the best printmaking process! Well... wood is lovely but I hate how it splinters and doesn't ink evenly.

I love your prints too keep up the good work!

I had no idea this was a lino until I read the category. Your lines and the various greys you've created with just black is just stunning. I'm sure 5-points will be absolutely thrilled to see their photograph turned into a traditional print.

mouse2cat In reply to Wolf-Atha-Door [2008-11-24 00:05:22 +0000 UTC]

I think he likes it a lot! 5-points is a really good friend and he deals with similar themes in his work.

The greys were tough but I was encouraged because it meant doing only 1 layer instead of 2.
