Where: Safaripark Beekse Bergen Hilvarenbeek, The Netherlands
These Birds are so colorful! They also have an amazing song if you take the time to listen.
They are quite common in zoos, but also fly around a lot, so it's not too easy at times to photograph them.
Species: Superb Starling (Driekleurige glansspreeuw)
Latin name: Lamprotornis Superbus syn. Spreo Superbus
Originates from East Africa.
Current status: Least Concern
Did you know:
…They look very similar to the Hildebrandt’s Starling, but can be distinguished by the eyes. The Superb has pale creamy-white eyes as opposed to the red eyeds of the Hildebrandt’s.
…Only adult Superb Starlings have a white breast band.
