Photographing nocturnal animals is difficult. If a zoo keeps their habitat adjusted to real day-and-night rhythm, it'll be too light out and the animals won't show themselves much since it's naturally the moment they spend asleep. If they turn the rhythm around, the animals will be active as they normally would. However, it's pitch black dark.

Always a challenge, but with a light sensitive camera, being patient and watching for repetitive behavoir you may get a half-decent photo by focusing on the same spot.

Species: Ringtail (Noord Amerikaanse katfret)

Latin name: Bassariscus Astutus

Originates from arid regions of North America.

Current status: Least Concern

…Ringtails can survive long periods on water derived solely from food sources.As such, their urine is more concentrated than that of any other Mammal studied. This trait allows them maximum water retention.

…The Ringtail is known under many names, such as Ring-Tailed Cat, Ringtail Cat, Miner’s Cat, Bassarisk.

…It is sometimes mistaken for a Cacomistle, which is a different animal altogether, although they are closely related and do in fact look similar.

…Ringtails have been legally trapped for their fur.
