I loved these moments when they were climbing the poles to get to the twigs with leaves attached to them. It makes for a more natural look, as there aren't any actual trees in their indoors.

Species: Coquerel’s Sifaka (Coquerels kroonsifaka)

Latin name: Propithecus Coquereli

Originates from northwestern Madagascar.

Current status: Critically Endangered

…The Coquerel’s Sifaka is a diurnal, medium-sized Lemur.

…They have a dense coat of fur with a bare face except for a distinctive white patch of fur in the bridge of their nose.

…Lemurs are known for their matriarchal hierarchy system, and it’s especially pronounced amongst Coquerel’s Sifakas.

…Like al Lemurs, they move easily between the trees, though unique to Coquerel’s Sifakas is their ability to leap from tree to tree up to 35 ft (11 m). They are known to be able to leap to spiny trees, and place their hands and feet just so that they don’t hurt themselves.

…When on the ground, the Coquerel’s Sifaka is once again unique in how it bipedal forwards, reminiscent of a Kangaroo, even leaning in the direction of their jump to achieve forward momentum.
