Description Photo taken in July, 2013 @ Zooparc Overloon, The Netherlands

Here you can clearly see the Binturong in action; he's quite daring, walking over that bridge of a tree which was quite high (I'm a girl, and therefore suck at estimating lengths and heights, but I'd say 7.5 to perhaps 10 meters high). And he was cocky enough to cast a look down at us, poor ground-bound humans.

Species: Binturong (Beermarter)
Latin name: Arctictis Binturong
Originates from South and Southeast Asia.
Current status: Vulnerable
…The Binturong is the largest living species of the Viverridae – though it is sometimes put in the midst of Bears or Mustelids – only rivaled by the African Civet.
…Females are approximately 20% larger than males.
…It is one of few predators with a prehensile tail.
…These omnivorous animals are active during both day and night, mostly to be found in tall forests.
