Poor little guy - he'd lost track of the rest of his family He'd been happily jumping and running when he realized, his Mom, Dad and big brother weren't there with him. First, it caused him to search a bit in place, but then he panicked a bit. His mother must have realized he wasn't actually in distress, and it truly didn't last *that* long, but it caused us a bit of distress too

Luckily, his mother came relatively quick and all was well again

Species: Crowned Lemur (Kroonmaki)

Latin name: Eulemur Coronatus

Originates from Madagascar.

Current status: Endangered

Did you know:

…Crowned Lemurs are sexually dimorphic; females have a gray body with an orange crown, while males are a dark reddish brown, crowned with black and orange.

…They have long, non-prehensile tails which they use to balance jumping from branch to branch, but also for communication in their close knit, female-led social groups.
