Description
Introducing a new Chain Series, starring The Underburbs' Angela Morgan! If you're not familiar with the idea, take a look at someone I took the idea from: dragon-fangx.deviantart.com/ar…Basically, it will work the same way as the above link. It's sort of a choose your own adventure TF, where you can commission the next link in the chain. The rate is only $25 per link, $40 per epilogue. Just comment or send me a note if you want in on this thing. I'll even get the ball rolling with a few separate catalysts. And now, on with the paper-thin story necessary for this type of thing.

Angela Morgan still couldn't believe it.
"What's the point of being a witch and going to a school in another dimension if they're not going to teach me any magic? Supposed to learn that at home, they said..."
Luckily, Underborough High School keeps plenty of magical tomes in its archives, even if the regular curriculum is decidedly tame for a school with a student body of Halloween monsters. If they did teach magic at UHS, there would probably be signs up telling students not to practice it without supervision, or to make sure to recite spells in a well-ventilated area. Undaunted by the absent warnings, Angela pulls a dusty book off the shelf at random and wings it.
"Hey, it's doing something! It feels like..."
FEELS LIKE WHAT? YOU DECIDE!

Each spell cast takes place in a separate reality. None of them happen simultaneously, nor does she make return trips to the archives (unless that happens in a spell’s epilogue). In the canon continuity, she never tinkers with unknown spells in the archives.
So you see, there is an explanation! It just wouldn’t make a very good drawing. On the bright side, the explanation is also free.

What if someone commissioned angela just closing the book and saying "I probably shouldn't do this unsupervised." and just walking away to get a teacher who looks at her spell book and is all like "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING THIS BOOK HAS MONDO MAD CRAZY BANNANA MAGIC THAT COULD MAKE A BIG OOPSY ON THE FABRIC OF REALITY!!! " and Angela would be all like "Oh, okay... "

Is it possible for the "Angela's Magic Lesson" side-series to be published into a physical interactive book collection for fans to enjoy?
On second thought, since this is a ongoing series, it's probably too early to consider that.

Your clean art style makes me wonder what a tv show adaption of the "The Underburbs" would be like.
If that does happen, I'd imagine that the "Angela's Magic Lesson" side series will probably be adapted into a one-off episode showcasing different what-if sinarios, with the punch-line being that it never happened.
It would be cool if the "The Underburbs" does get a tv show. It might be the next RWBY and Avatar!

There should be a fifth pathway involving stuff happening internally.

Internal changes tend to be harder to draw. Those are the spice added to an external change.

What, you mean make your own? You just need a character who you can change incrementally while still retaining some of his or her original features. With Angela it's usually the hair, sometimes the belt, etc.
I didn't have a lot of things pre-drawn after the first two steps, but I had the seed for basic ideas. She can get older, get younger, grow her hair, turn into creatures, etc. All the details come with each step, sometimes with input from commissioners.
And this step isn't necessary, but personally I find it helpful to have another project with the same character and work on it with little reward other than satisfaction for over a decade. That way, the character will have an established lore.
