The next two pages. Some readers have pointed out a few "technical inaccuracies" in my science here, namely that short-term exposure to an irradiated patient would not be lethal, as the doctor seems to suggest here. True enough. But I stand by the scene: it's more meant to be evocative of his pent-up uncertainty and panic in a stressful situation than a strict statement of "This Is The Science Of What Will Happen." And I think it's pretty emotional and serves the purpose of the story well. And that's what's important to me: a good story.
