Description
11/04/2017Since I'm on a small break from working on PHANTOMS until Monday, I've decided to upload different things that came to mind.
So if it hasn't been obvious, I am a major Hulk-buff. I have a huge collection of stuff with his face on it. One and a half Long-boxes of comics, both solo films, the Planet Hulk movie, a VHS with the first four episodes of the '96 cartoon, 3 of the games (2003, Ultimate Destruction, and 2008), 3 character guide books, the pilot of the Bill Bixby series, and a CD Rom of every issue from #1 to the Prelude to Planet Hulk. Instead of putting my brain to good use like being a mechanic or a lawyer, it was spent on this stuff.
I'd go as far to say that if it wasn't for the 2003 movie (and the old Teen Titans series) I probably wouldn't be here now, working on PHANTOMS and uploading things. All of this could lead someone to believe that I'm a Marvel fanboy or I'd accept anything with a Marvel character on it. That's not really the case nowadays. I don't agree or appreciate how the Hulk character/franchise is being handled. Not just in the films, but also in the comics and whatnot. But that's a rant for another time if people want specifics.
With Thor Ragnorak released, I can only figure the Planet Hulk story-line is butchered into oblivion to fit the needs for Thor, which is absolutely ridiculous. It insults me as a Hulk-buff like myself that this is the thanks I get for spending so much time and money on this character. And it's gonna be obnoxious to run into people that take these movies as the set rules for the Marvel Universe and they'll act as knowledgeable as me.
So with all of that said, this might be my last upload regarding Marvel. As much as I love the characters and Stan Lee, I don't agree with the company's decisions and I don't wanna associate with that.
This upload is about an idea that I've had for awhile. An alternate universe story, retelling the origin of Hulk. It'd be a mix of the first issue with the Ang Lee film. It's be a very dark monster-movie-esque plot, that will play like the first issue at the beginning but evolve into a bigger dilemma involving Bruce's family issues. If this was made into a real comic, it'd probably be a mini-series consisting of 5-10 issues.
It's a story very faithful to the source material, plus adding features from the first film, references to Ultimate Destruction and some from the Bixby show. A real love letter to a franchise that taught me a lot about being a comic creator. I know everyone would rather have me base my story off of nothing but the Bixby series or the MCU, but those two series don't hold a candle to the Ang Lee film or the comics. And for a comic book character, there is nothing more important.
If people want more detail about the plot or designs or concepts, it wouldn't really hurt to make another upload. But this is something I just wanted to upload, get it out there.
With that said, I guess that's it.
Until Next Time
