I do not like this drawing but posting for posterity. And yes there’s a story to go with that.

This was an assignment for my first art class. The objective was to use environmental/atmospheric perspective. Technically it’s successful in that respect, and I got ok marks on it too.

When the fair rolled around I was going to submit another environmental concept which I did in my second art class that turned out better ( I will post that at a later date) but at the last minute I decided to add this drawing to the show as well. Family gave me funny looks because they don’t like it either and I was also having my doubts. I remember trying to hide it under the other drawing while taking it into the show.

Come to find out, this drawing came in second in its category. The other (better imho) drawing came in third in its category.

I never found out what came in behind it, nor in front of it.

Neither the family, nor I, can still believe it.

Indeed, beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
