Ecco Dive-Clops al Biblioteca e Museo della Forza sottomarina della Marina degli Stati Uniti, precisamente l'USS Nautilus (SSN-571), il primo sottomarino operativo a propulsione nucleare al mondo e il primo sottomarino a completare un transito sommerso del Polo Nord nel 1958.
Il Nautilus fu un sottomarino non solo rivoluzionario ma fu anche il più grande e veloce mai costruito fino a quel momento, di dimensioni notevoli (lunghezza di 97,5 m ed una larghezza di 8,5), un dislocamento che oscillava tra le 2980 tonnellate in emersione alle 3520 in immersione. Grazie al nuovo sistema propulsivo, il Reattore nucleare STR (poi ribattezzato S2W), il Nautilus era in grado di navigare fino alla velocità record di 43 km/h e di restare per lunghi periodi in immersione, stabilendo anche qui un record durante una traversata dal Connecticut fino a Porto Rico.

The Nautilus was not only a revolutionary submarine but it was also the largest and fastest ever built up to that moment, of considerable size (97.5 m long and 8.5 m wide), with a displacement that fluctuated between 2980 tons surfaced at 3520 submerged. Thanks to the new propulsion system, the STR nuclear reactor (later renamed S2W), the Nautilus was able to navigate up to a record speed of 43 km/h and to remain submerged for long periods, also setting a record here during a crossing from Connecticut up to Puerto Rico.
