an afternoon and evening of sketching and inking. then a full evening of colouring. All in all i'd say around... 18 hours maybe, not sure though i don't time myself

Wow, I can look at this for hours! Love how the water ends. And even more how everything in this work communicates with each other.

ow yeah ! I have it ! what a gem ! that's a great christmas gift
there's a whole story behind it. I saw it in London in a comic book shop and decided to buy it.
However, there were a lot of other things I wanted to buy in London and I wanted to come back one or two days later, as I was staying in London for a few days.
The next day, I had arranged a meeting with Luke Pearson, whom you're familiar with, oldschool style without cell phones, on trafalgar square. My girlfriend and I waited for over an hour in the rain and left, because we thought he wasn't going to come anymore and we still wanted to check out London some more. We gave up all hope of meeting him in busy London. Turned out later his train got delayed by an hour and a half, poor Luke. Later that day just before closing time, I went back to the comic book store, because I felt shitty for not meeting Luke and wanted to buy the book. Comfort buying. As I'm going downstairs in the shop I tell my girlfriend: "you know it would be funny if Luke would be here" and seconds after I said that, there's Luke ! - Hot Potatoe appeared to be sold out suddenly, but I didn't mind anymore. We still had a nice drawing night and ate chinese. But as soon as I came home, I ordered the book asap.

absolutely, you live close to London ? Because I might drop by just for a weekend in the next few weeks/months. It's so easy by train, in an hour and a half I'm in St Pancras.

It has that 'Where's Wally'-like ability to make you just sit and stare and take in all the little details. So great.
