What kind of stuff should I include in the discription of myself? I'm concerned, since you said that agents don't like young authors, and I'm only 13...

It's not that agents don't like young authors--they just find it unprofessional if you put your age in the query letter. Don't put your age. Just let your writing, and your strong storyline, win them over.

I see... but you said you should put a little bit about yourself... so what DO I put then :/?
I just thought of another question (sorry, but I have no one else to ask ) Do you need to find a new agent everytime you publish something, or do you keep the same one?

Excellent, thank you so much for these tutorials!
I'm currently working on a series of five books that I plan on publishing, and this has been an excellent help. I'm excited, this certainly sounds like a challenge and an adventure that I can't wait to tackle. I think I will start on the letter now, and as time passes, work on it a little more until I "can't stand the sight of it anymore," as you said it, and then some. I figure if I do this while I'm still writing my book, I will have it polished enough by the time the book is complete.
It's funny. I scrolled down to the Daily Devs (something I very seldom do) and almost passed this up. Thankfully, the preview of the green butterfly was vibrant and inviting and it caught my eye just before I closed the window.
Again, thank you very much.

Any recommendations for someone who has self-published their book on Lulu.com and wants to take his book "big time", as it were?
Great tuts, both of them. I want to get my work out there and your tutorials have re-inspired me to pursue my dreams of being a published author.

Oh, my, that was excellent advice. Thank you. I hope to have my book finished by the end of summer. I have the first three chapters posted here. I was wondering if that was a good idea, bad idea or irrelevant to the publishers. I'm on chapter 5 now, but won't post any more on the internet.
Again, thanks for the advice.

...................................................... I love you.
Seriously, this is the best source of information on how to get a literary agent that I have ever come across. I've read books and magazines and God knows what else, but this is very good: succinct, written in vernacular so it's more sociable, and even PRETTY. XD
I've actually got like four or five novels going on right now, lol... One of them I've been working on for going on five years now, and the others are much more recent. I'm seriously considering publishing them when I'm done... I've poured my heart and soul into them! Thank you for writing this so I know what to do when I finish!

I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed reading through these! A friend and I love reading and we both try our skills at writing every now and then so this will be wonderfully helpful if we ever pump out stories we're really proud of!
I have a quick question though; Are there any good agents that would support a multi-author novel or book of short stories? My friend and I feel somewhat proud of a few of our shorter stories but none would be good enough to fill just one book. If you can get back to me that would be great but don't feel rushed. I'm sure you get so many comment and
's that you can barely handle them.

Most FAQs on the subject are pompous and vague; I felt like a chum was giving me advice. Thank you for the time and effort you put into this.

so here's a question, just because I'm kind of anal when I print things and try to save paper: Do agents get annoyed if the person printed on both sides? like page one on the front and page two on the back? I'm just curious because like I said, I do that alot (not that I've tried to get an agent yet. But you're very knowledgable so I figured it couldn't hurt to ask?)
