Description
Comic 301: Willful TransmissionPanel 1: Show just the captain with a stern expression and arms crossed.
Narr.: "Despite expressed concern, I, Hagith Svarn, commander of the Akiman Fleet, ordered the device of unknown origin to be reviewed by the ship's main a.i."
Panel 2: Show that the ship's A.I. is loading the transmission to examine it in the main computers. The captain is watching eagerly with arms crossed. There is a small metal tube on a table, a laser going into it, and the other end of the laser going into the computers.
Narr.: "After all, I thought there was naught to fear from it. Data is data."
Panel 3: Show that the ship's A.I. is fighting something in the transmission and losing.
Narr.: "And I was not as easily frightened as those beneath me."
Panel 4: Show that the techs are being attacked by the ship's systems. Static (or something to that effect...) on all the screens.
Narr.: "Curiosity causes men to push boundaries, to reach for the impossible, to delve in the darkest recesses of concept in the search for understanding."
Narr. 2: "Often the the secluded areas not previously known to the mind or heart can bring great mysteries to light."
Panel 5: Just a hinting that Vehemence is responsible for the disaster by showing a faint image of his face on a screen in the distant background, the ship's crew all laying dead. The captain has a gun to his own head, a sickly, veined glow on his skin and parts of the ship having run through his other shoulder and side.
Narr.: "However, some things should, simply put, be left well enough alone..."
Narr. 2: "This was one of them. May the universe have pity on whatever fools ignore this final warning message."
