A group of six hikers reported lost while exploring a region of untouched forested land was found this morning by state authorities. The remaining 2 survivors have been taken to the nearest facility in, [REDACTED]. The rest were found in varying states of decay, deformity, some of them with wounds resembling bite marks, though no animal has been identified from the bite patterns. 2 of the 4 bodies were found to have extensive plant and fungal growths, especially from the throat, sinus cavity, and other soft tissues. One was found to have various forms of spines and antlers growing out the victim, primarily out the visage.
The only altered victim which is alive, was changed. Subject is now a form of animal- like creature not seen or documented, with the only thing remaining being the flesh tone. Quadrupedal, three digits, no visible eyes, and teeth exclusively for herbivorous diet. It is unknown if the victim is aware of their surroundings and being anymore.

The two survivors offer little explanation of the incident, one of which seems emotionally unphased by the experience, although plant-life seems to gradually bloom in her presence. Both have victims have been amnestied and returned to normal society; but monitored for any anomalous activity. During interview the survivors had little comprehension or remembrance of what they saw, only made repeated references to "the Stag" and the coming of "Spring".
