Description
Recently, amidst the unearthing of an older sketchbook, I uncovered a sketch of a work in progress of the now called Lust of the Dakini project. I decided to give it a lick of new inks based on the most up to date of its design and showcase it here.
The funny aspect about this picture is that it was originally going to be more cartoony; prior to the use of tippex some of the eyes were pretty bulging, back when Lust of the Dakini was going to be a comedy. Nowadays, the comic will be an adventure fantasy, with opportunist takes on action, whimsical shenanigans and detailed art as and when. Also to bring it to your attention, to those who may remember, this was going to be a parody of Id Software's produce. Again, there was more of a creative palette to be had by branching off into my own world with this, not to mention flirting a bit more with oriental aspects, so much of the designs have gotten with the program since. Still, where comparisons can still be made, that I'll playfully leave to the reader.
Anyways, a much-needed action pic with the Dakini Tahiya Osric, unveiling her deeper reserves of Yogini and Yakshini magic to take apart vicious marauding Ghuls from the Human underworld. While I went against rendering it here for design sake, these assailants are meant to be ghosts, so the colour job if done would place a coloured tone over their inks.
Art and Lust of the Dakini by me. Done in traditional inks for old times sake. I've entertained for a bit the ambition of taking my past Ink illustrations and concepts and splashing some digital paint on the matter. These I'm aiming to have as an incentive to my impending Patreon, all being well, taking shape this year.
