Personality || A very hesitant and shy stump, they would like to make friends but they have a hard time feeling the urge to come out of their shell and talk to people. They don't tend to have a very good grasp on who they are or...were, since they had amnesia when they were found. Regardless of their shyness, they enjoy feeling helpful and doing nice things for people. Sometimes, they're a bit too keen on doing that and they have very poor boundaries as a result. They try to hide it, but its obvious that something has left them deeply frightened of certain things and influences their need to be likeable to others and they'll do things they wouldn't normally do due to peer pressure. Sometimes, this gets them hurt. Leutogi worries about this.

Along with social anxiety, Reader deals with a lot of paranoid thoughts and feelings which makes them very untrusting of people, sometimes even the ones they know. It causes them a bit of self doubt and distress that they tend to not speak aloud. They're described to space out quite a bit and get lost inside their own head at times as well. Has moments where the paranoia and the emotional flashbacks overwhelm them and they tend to seek out leutogi to follow her like a little shadow, or to hide underneath a bed or in a small, dark space.

Brief history|| Reader was found washed up on the beach with a few broken ribs, a broken arm, and a nasty concussion. They have no memory of who they were or where they lived before, but its clear it wasn't staves rest. Was taken in by Leutogi shortly afterwards. Fish and tank know more.

Things about them||

  Reader is aromantic and asexual, They will not date or breed once fully grown. (Sorry not sorry heheh.)

They prefer to wear the gown they received from Dr. Albert, they could change out of it if they wanted to but they seem to be attached to it, or at least, like to keep their body covered up with it. It could be because it was the first thing they've owned since arriving to the island.

Reader has Schizophrenia, or a staxie equivalent of it. They don't hallucinate, but they do experience delusions and some of the other symptoms such as catatonia, memory problems, paranoia, word salad, disorganized thoughts and emotional bluntness and a few others! These are based off of my own experience. (I ask you that if you portray any of these it would be in a respectful manner, Reader is unlikely to be violent and would most likely lash out, if at all, in fear and not genuine malice.)

Deals with symptoms of CPTSD, anxiety and depression as well. Godmereally has it out for this little guy.

Likes strawberry flavored things the best, forget-me-not flowers, and of course, reading books. Tends to fixate a lot on superhero stories where the hero saves the day or surprisingly dark play topics like an escaped test subject running away from a group of evil scientists. yknow. as kids do.

Talks to themself sometimes.

Leutogi || Moomy was one of the first people they saw when they woke up. After being found on the beach, she took them to Dr. Albert's to get them fixed up and they've been at the stumphouse ever since. At first, they were hesitant and very quiet, only really speaking when spoken to, but after a period of adjustment and kindness on her part they've become a lot more talkative to her. Tends to follow her like her own little shadow and is more than ok with doing favors when she asks, mostly doing small errands to help them get a little better at talking to people outside the stumphouse. Considers her to be the closest thing they've ever had to a parent, but they wonder if she feels the same way. They're terrified of the answer.

Dr. Albert || He's nice, if a bit blunt with the way he speaks. Even so, he was gentle with them when healing their broken ribs and their head injury when they came in. Albert doesn't like the frequency that they get hurt a bit, but hasn't tried to yell at them so far, so he must be a good guy.

Skipper || She seems nice! They've barely met her at all, but they like to play sometimes. Calls him weird, but doesn't seem to really mean it in a rude way like other stumps. Brings them out of their shell a little bit and pushes them to be a little more adventurous, while they tend to be patient with her when she loses speech. She gets it when Reader does the same as well. They're a little less scared with her around.

Stump || Hi you are terrifying, hello? I'll play with you but you scare the hell out of me. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and still hang out with you but goddamn-

Timber || He was the one who let Leutogi know they washed up on the beach. He's also been the one to keep them from slipping into the water and disappearing the one time they've gotten depths siren. He seems nice enough, but something about him scares them. He doesn't tend to talk much, but he did make conversation with them until Leutogi arrived to take them back to the stumphouse when they were sick. Whoever he is, he definitely knows something and it puts Reader on edge. After the disappearance though...they kind of regret feeling as wary of him as they did just seeing him on the beach and wishes they could apologize and thank him. Unsure if he really disappeared with all the rumors going on.

Quetzal || Tripped over him once, that, and he's scared of him due to him being an authority figure. Kind of worries that he'll find an excuse to kick them out of staves rest or something for not being native to the island. At least, as far as they know they're not native to the place...?

Fish and tank || Seeing them makes a chill go up their spine and break out into a cold sweat. they avoid them like they've got throat rot.
