A lot of times I'll go over the skin tone with white pastel to blend it a little more.

Hmm, I don't always do it, sometimes it just depends on the brand of paper I'm using.
I didn't blend many of the colors with white pastel for One Feather, One Wish. I think I only lightened Popuri's skin and her hair.
However, on my Princess Debut picture, I lightened all of the colors with white pastel, except for Sabrina's hair.
I didn't use very many pastels for that picture, I mainly colored it with colored pencils.

Princess Debut? Haven't heard of it before, but it seems it's a DS game. Anyhow, I think your art captured the girl from the box art (She's the main character, I presume?) pretty well.

Let me just say that a prince almost got his trousers ripped off by his fan-club. (they were trying to mend his pants. It's an E-rated game.)
