Description
I only have rudimentary understanding of Dr. Who, but wanted to have some fun with who I think would count as Time Lords. No particular reason for the order:Valerie Frizzle (The Magic School Bus)- She takes her class on exciting adventures and she has a machine that can travel to almost anywhere in Time and Space. There is no way this woman is not a Time Lord of some variety.
James Bond (James Bond franchise)- A classic theory. Dude regenerates, totally could be the explanation for why he has so many different faces. I know he was sorta discredited by Tennant :/. But hey, since Dalton is a cannon Time Lord, I'm just gonna go ahead and count the other Bond actors.
Rufus (Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure/Bogus Journey)- Guy traveling through Time and Space in a phone booth. Really, enough said. I probably should count Bill and Ted as well, but I'm gonna consider them more of companions that get to be in the driver's seat for a while.
Phineas Flynn and Ferb Fletcher (Phineas and Ferb)- I really couldn't put one without the other. These two can do it all: travel through time, travel through space, travel to different dimensions. Mini Time Lords, hands down in my book. What's more, I'm half convinced Ferb is a regenerated Tim Latimer from 'Human Nature' and 'Family of Blood.'
Willy Wonka (Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory)- Some Time Lords have police boxes, some have phone booths, some have big yellow buses, and then there's those with great glass elevators. Besides, he is Tennant confirmed!
Hermione Granger (Harry Potter franchise)- Honestly, how many students would be trusted with a Time-Turner? They obviously gave it to her because they knew she was gonna discover how to go back in time anyway. A Time Lord can always find a way! Plus if any witch or wizard could come up with a way to regenerate, it would be Hermione.
Mary Poppins (Mary Poppins)- Another Tennant confirmed! Now, to be honest, there's really no evidence to suggest she is a Time Lord, apart from her carpet bag being bigger on the inside...and that she doesn't seem to age (quickly anyway)...and that her umbrella could probably function like a sonic screwdriver...
Emmet Brown (Back to the Future franchise)- Were Doc Brown back on Gallifrey, he'd probably be in the business of building and repairing TARDISes. As such, imagine THE Doctor's surprise when his beloved police box comes back with the door opening up like a DeLorean.
Nanny McPhee (Nanny McPhee)- She and Mary Poppins are more than likely cousins, and therefore would share the Gallifreyan pedigree. Also, I have no doubt that she hangs about in other dimensions while she's not looking after youngling humans.
Merlin (King Arthur adaptations)- Another character who has had many incarnations, which could of course be called 'regenerations.' One of my favorite Merlins is actually Disney's 'Sword in the Stone' version, but I chose this one from 'A Kid in King Arthur's Court' mainly because of the time travel aspect.
Sherlock Holmes and Doctor John Watson (Sherlock Holmes adaptations)- Again, I couldn't have one without the other, even if John Watson might count more as a companion. Anyway, not only do these two have multiple regenerations, but the characters travel through time depending on the adaptation. From the 19th century, to the 21st century, even to the 22nd century! I'm convinced these two are either Time Lords or some kind of Trill symbionts. I chose the Cumberbatch and Freeman versions because their incarnations are shown in both the 19th and 21st centuries.
Spock (Star Trek franchise)- Speaking of Trill of the Star Trek universe, here we have a Vulcan who we assume is half human. But not only has he gone back in time on multiple occasions, he has also visited other dimensions, is quite nifty with machinery, and did in fact return from the dead. Perhaps Ms. Amanda Grayson had a hidden bloodline she neglected to tell her son about? I know that other Star Trek characters could count as Time Lords (as Q or Sisko or even Janeway would probably be more fitting), but I'm going by how the newer franchise was instigated by Spock traveling back to the past.
There are a few others that I would consider Time Lords, but these are the main ones for now. What about y'all?
Btw, this is the comic con where Tennant confirmed Wonka and Poppin's Time Lord status (skip to 21:45): www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-1BCu…
