Bio:

Politics never interested Askeli, his father was on the seat of the council and a young Askeli would have to play outside the building with other sea scales while his father talked about matters of importance. Askeli wanted to see the world, the prejudice against sea dragons was not going to stop him from doing that. At the age of 18 he moved far away from Manai to Arzene become educated in the craft of runes and the magic they held. While Askeli suffered from the intense heat and desert sands of Arzene he managed to achieve his journeyman's qualifications by 25 and would have carried on to the level of master had he not came across the mercenary Avani. In a strange twist of fate he joined the female warrior as an apprentice of sorts, his reasoning behind this only he knows. The two travelled together doing odd jobs that allowed the sea scale to fulfil another dream of seeing the world. From Deasolis to Kateros to Ryell they travelled sorting from odd jobs to massive contracts, the might of an earth dragon combined with his rune magic they made a name for themselves.

In a strange twist of fate while he and Avani travelled by the coast they encountered an isolated tower, curiosity got the better of them and they travelled to investigate, there they found the last Celestial Mul and his Mentor deceased mentor Sun. Askeli and Avani buried the elder celestial and took Mul as their adopted son and not long after that the two decided to marry albeit with no official ceremony given, after a few years they had a daughter, Athea.

Askeli as a father taught Mul how to swim and hunt fish as he was taught by his father. Askeli watched his adoptive son become "as good a fish as any" (to quote his wife). Askeli bonded with Mul over rune magic, hunting fish and their general love for the outdoors. As for his daughter Athea they were not as close since Athea was more interested in natural earth magic rather than soaking endless hours into swimming and fishing (Athea had a tendancy to throw rocks at the fish and collect them afterwards rather than simply hunt them traditionally.

Askeli tries his best to keep Mul's celestial identity a secret from outsiders, crafting the magical rune stone that mul wears to hide his scales though with Mul getting to the age of 32 he wonders how the celestial can go on with a life beyond his parents, on the one hand he must find his own path and a mate to restart his lineage but Askeli knows that if Mul reveals himself to be a celestial then he and everybody close to him will be hounded and hunted. It also doesn't help that by this point in his life he will need to one day return home to Manai. Politics never interested Askeli but even he couldn't avoid what was waiting for him.

Askeli, Mul's adoptive father. I had this sitting in my files for a while so i finally decided to post the reference. It was definitely more fun to draw this as opposed to other dragons as I really had to think about how i wanted a sea dragon to look. I was inspired by Manta Rays for the wings and Dolphins for the tail.
