MerMay Day 19: Turtle

I'll be honest and say I only picked this prompt purely because I wanted to draw Rishid as a turtle, I had the idea a while ago but kept procrastinating actually doing it-so I figured I'd use this prompt as an excuse to draw it and I also updated Malik's lantern fish design-I was unhappy with the colours I chose so now he's purple

Random reasonings why I chose these fish/turtle for them

I love the idea of Radames (Mr Ishtar) not liking Rishid not just because he’s not of blood line and stuff. But because he’s a turtle and like heck a turtles gonna be a tomb keeper. It wasn't even a fish so Radames refuses to let him ever become an official tomb keeper. (That and I love the idea of Ms Ishtar finding the egg all alone and hatching it lovingly and having a baby head with a shell then him growing up and out of his shell and stuff) and plus this was when making dramatic entrances and stuff, Malik can sit on his shell and like in this picture he can sleep on him during their travels (there in that current from Finding Nemo)

Malik’s a lantern fish for a few reasons partly because I liked the design for him in general (mostly this). But also so he wouldn’t be stuck in the dark ever again, he’d always have a light. And also for more show related purposes his light can light the way for the Pharaoh and guide him to the after life and such.
