An illustration of Nix and Fae’s first meeting.

Nix met Fae after Fae had narrowly escaped from a larger Lizard. Exhausted and scared, Fae spotted the young Slugcat across the field of snow, and snarled in an attempt to scare him away. While Nix was initially afraid, he realized that this Lizard wasn’t here to eat him. No, this Lizard was scared, and trying to defend itself. In an act of kindness, Nix tossed the Batfly he had caught just before the encounter to the Lizard, leading to the Lizard coming to realize that this Slugcat wasn’t a threat.

From then on out, the Lizard loyally followed Nix wherever he went, protecting him from all threats, no matter their size. Nix named the Lizard Fae.

It’s been quite a while since I last drew these two, and I kinda just found myself thinking about them before, and how they met…so, I decided to give the two some much needed attention with this drawing. I’m really proud of this one, and I hope you guys like it too!
