Description

As we all know, the FCC is planning on taking away Net Neutrality, “the principle that Internet service providers should enable access to all content and applications regardless of the source, and without favoring or blocking particular products or websites” (Google dictionary).   A typical person expects to go to any desired website, without your cable or phone company interfering.

Back in the year of 2015, in order to allow freedom on the internet, many activist persuaded the FCC to adopt Net Neutrality , which enables the freedom to give and obtain information.

Unfortunately, Ajit Pai, the FCC chairman of Trump, plans on ceasing Net Neutrality .  The FCC voted on Pai’s plan back in the 18th of May.

If we lost Net Neutrality , “would become a closed-down network where cable and phone companies call the shots and decide which websites, content or applications succeed” (Net Neutrality : What You Need to Know Now).  AT&T, Comcast, Verizon and other companies would call the shots as to who and who does not have a say.  They would also block any content that they dislike such as certain websites and apps.

Getting rid of Net Neutrality  would also take away activists’ ability to fight oppression and prevent small business owners, startups and entrepreneurs from launching business, creating markets and advertising via online.

My picture is a tweet, which personifies the Internet standing up for itself through Twitter.  The tweet is promoting the keeping of Net Neutrality.
