So the drony was actually a pony who was cursed a thousand years ago in that cave. He was told to have a pony with a pure voice to be healed so they could perform in the cave. Only then would the curse be lifted. But no pony came into the cave after hearing about the rumors. And those who saw the drony would have to be trapped.
