Β His tail curled around him as the small fox cried. How could they treat him like that. He just wanted to be a scout like they were. Why couldn't they see that he just wanted to protect and do what was right for their community. His small heart broken and scared. He could still feel the ghost of a muzzle the non-predator children over his face. They called him dangerous! He wasn't a killer either, he was Nick. He was an adventurer, he was smart, and he was kind. But he wasn't dangerous...he wasn't a killer was he?
A sound caught his attention pulling him from his thoughts. Tears caught in mid flow as he looked up from his knees. He couldn't help it when he pulled away further and as close as he could against the wall. A small bunny girl was looking at him with concern and curiosity. "Hi there, whats wrong? Did something hurt you?" Her voice though that of a child spoke of sass that could give you whip lash if you weren't careful, resonated with comfort and care, and held worry for anyone in need of help.
Nick hadn't realized he had pulled out of his small ball he had curled up into. His eyes roamed over her her blue and black ensemble, lading last on her hat. No, her police hat... The question came out of his mouth faster then he had the chance to stop and actually answer her. "Why are you wearing a police hat?" His ears slowly perked back up. She didn't seem like the others.
The question of course made the young bunny to pause. A smile stretching over her tiny fluffy face as her nose twitched. "I am going to be a police officer when I get older! I want to protect everyone and help those in need." She paused as she extended a paw out, palm wide open to take his. "My name is Judy, did you want to play cops and robbers with me? We would make a great team."
His green eyes drifted between her open paw to her face. He was more surprised now. He had thought she was going to be mean to him like the others had been. But instead she invited him to play with her. To be a 'team'. "You mean like your partner?" When her head nodded, and smile spread on her face, he felt hope once more. "I'm Nick...." He took her paw gingerly as he stood slowly. The pads of his fingers clearing away the remaining tears that lingered in his eyes. A smile spread over his face.
"Let's go catch those bad guys partner..."
