Description
I wish I knew how to fly,So when I'm holding on tight,
To all those I love in my world,
I know they will pull me every which way,
Over the canyon of despair that's below my feet.
I know in the end I'll be worn and stretched,
My tolerance will weaken and so will my grasp,
I can't stop thinking about what I have to lose,
But that in the end I have to choose,
Who will catch me from my fall.
But a choice like that is a test of faith,
If the only thing I have to lose is myself,
I'd release the reigns and save my mind,
But I lose all if I can't open my wings,
And learn how to fly.
Plummeting, I begin to think,
The wind catches all of my fears,
I watch despair close in,
I look up to see those telling me to fly,
And just then I feel a lift.
If we make our world what it is,
Then I always had the power to fly,
And my despair was just an illusion,
To show me how to fall,
So that I could learn how to rise.
