Description
Caimans and crocodiles are , what some would call, my favorite type of crocodylian. However, I have noticed that people often focus on the differences (how to draw) crocs and gators. For the uninitiated, drawing caimans is actually pretty easy. A caiman is in essence a cross between the former two with a some really interesting quirks. They have the U-shaped head of an alligator with the interlocking teeth of a crocodile. Caiman teeth also have the fascinating habit of being VERY unaligned. They can look like a carbon copy of the jaws of a Vastatosaurus rex. They may even pierce the jaws themselves like a babirusa. Their eyes are also very, very big (cute even). Their bodies are very round and only their back feet are webbed. The 'How to Draw Animals' series by Monika Zagrobelna goes in depth on how to draw these archosaurs from snout to tail. Very insightful.
