I'm a little late to post this but I did draw it at the peak of the movement so. still counts babiee

AI used to generate images nearly all utilize unethically sourced datasets which include stolen artwork as well as personal sensitive information (see the dataset whatever ai celsys wanted to implement into csp was running on that literally had real people's medical records in them). They are a pathetic excuse of a tool created solely by greedy shitheads who couldn't stand to just pay an artist for a service.

People like to wax philosophical about these things and talk about how it's soulless art or whatever but that's pointlessly vague. I like to get straight to the point: we're witnessing art theft on a massive scale and no real artist should accept it. If you were an artist and are using AI at any point in your process you should be fucking ashamed, just like for NFTs, period.
I'm mildly upset that we didin't get to use these AIs to their full potential, with datasets that don't contain stolen work. I would have loved to use any of these tools to get inspiration for my art but we clearly don't live in the right timeline.
