3:20 am. With nowhere to call home anymore, Ax'L figured the only couch he could bum off of was Diji's. The horror of the past few hours weighing heavy on his psyche, above all else he needed someone to talk to.

"What have I been doing dude? I'm too far in, I can't STOP while this shit's still going on out there, but I've got nothing left besides that car and this jacket"

Ax'L's rep had grown too big by this point. Going to work, replacing crystals, groceries, he was being watched, he could feel it. By this point his only way out was to either see things through, start over off-world, or die trying.

"Look." Diji continued, "I've been hearing from alot of former drivers, alot of them want blood, but there's a growing group of dudes out there who are thankful to you. Rohn* and Korrigan had forced alot of adrenaline junkies like me to work under them for a long ass time before you came along. I'm free because a green guy in a pink mohawk put my boss in prison. Alot of dudes like me just became free themselves because THEIR boss went and got herself fused to a firewall."

I'm going to allow you to bum off of my couch, on ONE condition. There's still one section of the city still under someone's thumb, and I know you aren't going to let this go. Promise me, after all this is done, you'll turn around, face the mess you've made, and turn it into something better. You do that and you have my couch and my help whenever you need it."

Ax'L stared at Diji for a moment before giving out a sigh, understanding the scale of what he had gotten himself into. What had begun as vengeance for Alula's murder had additionally become in a weird way liberation for local abused adrenaline junkies.

"...Deal."

"Good, now go to bed, I've got some blankets in the closet, forecast is calling for an early winter this year."

GOD this one was hard to write. I also tried to delve more into Dijis character with the design of his apartment, showing that his interest in cars is dwarfed by his passion for music. As well as trying to keep the environment looking as 90s as I can manage. Fun fact: the layout of the apartment is almost 1 to 1 my old apartment I rebuilt in Blender!
