I really like this! I don't mean to be rude or seem like I don't think you know what you're doing...but I got this suggestion recently, and it really helped shorten my render time on big fractals...I'm hoping it solves your problem. Never use zoom because when you render, it renders the whole thing, not just the part you've zoomed in on. Use Scale instead. I hope this helps. Again, just a friendly tip, I hope it didn't offend you.

Thanks for the tip... with me back in school it is hard for me to learn everything about apophysis and how it fully works other than making scripts and using the editor. As for the tip you have just givin me I appreciate it and no offense taken. As for the renders I do them all at 4000 quality now with an oversample of 4 and have been rendering a larger image so detail can be seen which has now been 2000 px and over. Problem I render on a windows vista acer notebook with 512 ram and vista hogs all memory. Thanks again!

I'm self taught, as are many Apo users, so some of that stuff isn't really something that you can find by playing.

True there my first fractal however I made by spending several hours tweaking the editor and changing values to understand how the flame would be affected. I began writing scripts of my own and looking at others from other Apophysis members and tweaking their values to understand once more how everything worked. In a sense, I really wouldn't call that playing, more or less expirementing and learning.

Mindboggling The amount of detail that the insane image resolution shows is awesome. Every time I look I see something new in there.

for certain

good work , better render quality
however, a smaller would have form sufficed for this gallery

26 hours? Wow. It shows in the quality, though. Great piece!

Damn Derrek! I like how it features more than one variation. I like the Julian feature the best

Thanks. I used two of shortgreenpigs scripts for the 3D hack. I used his Julian script and tweeked it a bit in the editor. Then I made it bilateral and tweeked some more. I then used the spiral bubbles script and did a few mutations at a very low speed and then finally found the right gradient for the job and waited. Hoping that the 512 mb of ram in my Vista notebook would not catch fire. Then finished it in photoshop which definately gave it the emphasis. Keep up on your fractals Trav, and expirement, it's the best way to learn!
