Description
I've been opening up the window completely so Sketch can lay on the sill, and light was pouring in and I thought it could make a good backlit portrait.You guys can be the judge of that.

I luv it!! The wood-sy green background goes well with the cat's fur...which reminds me of my cat, who looks almost like it, but the fur on my cat's a bit longer...
Also, the eyes seem to match the background, like that!

I'm not much of a photographer myself, so here goes my lame-o comment! Sorry, mynd!
Simply lovely!! I love cats, in fact, I have a black cat too, though she has a white triangle-shaped spot just at the neck. It would be great if you could photograph her
Oh yeah, the cat (Sketch, isn't it?) looks as if he's wondering. He's adorable! And the lighting is great. And the background, well, I can't really tell but it definitely makes Sketch stands out in this photo~

Hmmm. The backlight does work well, the front of Sketch isn't too dark. I wish his eyes were a bit brighter, but that's ok. He has gorgeous eyes - I love how the match the soft blurs of green in the background. The sunlight illuminating his one ear is nice, brings some warm pink-peach tones into the shot. The composition is nice, he is nicely position within the frame. 
The only things I don't like too much are the frame, and the focus. I wish the DOF were wider to capture more detail around the fur. This is probably more personal taste than anything, but a sharper image with the edges of his fur being sharp and clear in the bright sun would look really sweet. The frame is great - except it distracts me as it just clips his ear at the top. The fine line works well around the image except it feels "tight", I guess where his ear meets it. Not sure if you cropped it, or that was the top of the picture. I know I have more than a few shots where I wished there was just a wee bit more space on one side.
Still a wonderful image. Not my favorite shot of Sketch from you, but lovely nonetheless.

also, i did actually play with brightening the eyes, but it started to look unatural above what they are now, due to the deep shadows

didnt crop the shot at all, which is why i did a single line frame. it adds more of a feeling of completion

very nice colors, this cat still impresses me with his eyes, so deep and colorful. i'm also glad your cat is doing well again, long live Sketch! good job!

Yep i second that, nice eyes.
It's hard to get a decent backlit cat as the fur tend to turn a bit blurry on the edge.
