I just love the design! Something fresh! Especially the detail level is well chosen: It's enough to underline the characters grace and make it more unqiue, but not too much so the whole picture is burried by details and you don't even know where to look first. Well shading too, the slightly contrast in the colours of blue and yellow is well chosen. I also love your baby shark - so cute and adorable! =3
But her face and crown are definitly my highlights! A thiny little thing that bothers me is the background, it looks a bit empty to me (but the bubbles are well drawn!).

Also, I agree with you about the background.
When it was time for a background all I could think of was bubbles... A few sharks back there would've been nice now that I look at it again > <
