I think the composition is slightly better here, just because it feels like you've filled out the frame more with the trees at the top, the ripples towards the bottom.. and then the different shades in between.
It feels almost surreal, or haunting, I guess. I really like how deep this feels on many levels, what with the blurred landscape in the background, the way the black and white contrast with each other, and so on.
Awesome stuff.
