Descending down the winding path
I know not what I'm getting myself into
I feel my fleeting backbone melt
& I know I'll never have this feeling again
All the choices that I've made have put me in this moment
& where I go from here will never bring me back to where I already was
We don't travel in circles; they're more of a series of steps, forward and backward
The line between present and past
Looking to the past, my breath eludes me
When you're back's against the wall, there's nowhere to move but forward.
