On popular demand: Splinter meeting his granddaughter.
I kinda imagine him putting on a pretend-stern face when entering the kitchen, holding up Irrilia and asking the turtles to explain the origins of this child. Just to watch the boys squirm for his own amusement. 
So I guess this is officially a series now. Darnit.
But it’s hard to NOT draw this family when reading your wonderful comments and seeing all the INCREDIBLE fan art out there! I literally have no words. Too much happiness makes Myrling a stupid girl. I’ve been a little less productive than I’d like to these last two weeks…
Mostly because of computer related problems. My laptop crashed on Valentine’s Day, and I couldn’t access my files (the script to Hindsight among them), so now I’m looking for a new one that isn’t too expensive… 
Well! At least my pen and paper still works.
Salamandrian head canon 82-ish: Salamandrian infants are fairly independent for their young age. They are a bit bigger and sturdier than human babies, and being a warrior race, it may not come as a surprise that Salamandrian newborns can fend for themselves to a small degree. Such as crawling to safety in order to escape an enemy (or their mothers’ jaws).

I think what happened next was simply Splinter showing up with Irrilia, pretending to be mad at the turtles just to see them squirm and try to explain this.

Is this the new Ninja Turtles stuff? I never heard of there being a salamander character in the TMNT series.

In season 4 (of the 2012 version) the turtles go to space and they meet a race called Salamandrians.

I can't believe I haven't commented on this! I love it! Mikey's idea and then everyone's reactions and Splinter analyzing Irrilia! I love how he can tell who the father is like that. But OMG Raph's reaction. And Donnie's! 'Yeah, because we know so much about turtle-salamandrian-hybrid-infants...'

I can definitely see that! I can also picture him as that character that would seem like the tough guy, but then he becomes the super sweet and playful dad as well :3

This actually reminds me a bit of my cat, Shoes, and my dog, Corduroy. When Shoes was a baby, he would crawl toward Corduroy, mewing, and Corduroy would back away and whimper, because he knew he shouldn't mess with a kitten when it's that young. When Shoes got older, the two of them were the best of friends.
